WAX IN THE CITY @ ORCHARD CENTRAL - BAD
Tuesday, November 03, 2009 @ 10:53 PM
OMG OMG OMG!!!
I HAD A TERRIBLE
PEDI SESSION AT WAX IN THE CITY @ ORCHARD CENTRAL!
OK. OH MAYBE IT'S
ONI $6 and i
shouldn't complain so much. but... let me
just list down
whatever happened.
the place is
really spacious, nice and comfortable.
1. when seated down, i was wearing a dress, and i had to put my legs up. feeling so awkward trying to adjust my seating, and after 1 min later, finally realising how awkward i was, my manicurist mentioned, " there is a blanket on
ur back."
-
shouldn't the manicurist be the one to put the blanket on my lap? instead of watching @ me for 1 minute den finally mention that there is a blanket on the back?
2. then the normal procedures went on....
till there is one part which the manicurist should be putting
moisturizer on my legs and do some basic massage.
- she
didn't do the step, and was talking to
liantee's manicurist and just doing nothing.
finally she took the color i wanted and proceeded to finish the whole pedicure.
3. she just asked me to stand up and shift over to the "drying area"
- she
didn't offer to help anything. she
just looked at how clumsy i was, trying to stand up and get my bags with laptop.
4. the whole procedure only took like 40 - 45
mins, while usually the classic pedicure should take abt 1 hour plus.and i looked at my watch. it's
abt 9pm.
all the staffs had already changed into their civilian clothing and preparing to leave.
TO MY IMPRESSION
they just rushed
wendy and my
pedi session to make sure they can knock off at 9pm sharp.
and i
really have to mention how the manager (i cant remember his name, i think the name starts with a K? ) tried to promote his package to us.
1. he asked how was the service.
we mentioned it's not up to our expectation.
cos my manicurist missed out one step.
he replied "oh, because it's a trial for 1st timers, we will miss out some steps."
he also mentioned that what we did was
EXPRESS PEDICUREbut we were notified that we will enjoy the
privilege to try out their service @ $6 for classic pedicure at our 1st visit.
2. i replied, "but why wendy's manicurist did every step for her and mine did not?"
he replied, "OH IS IT? who is ur manicurist?"
he went to look for her and came back "oh she is a new comer la... still need to go through SOP la... u koe la.. new comers... "
- ok. so my manicurist is new. i accept the reason.
so... is it an express pedicure / you jus purposely miss out some steps in the whole procedure because it's $6? 3. wendy mentioned, " why does your staff leave earlier than the customer?"
the manager replied "oh, because if we don't let them go home early, they cannot perform the service well"
- hmm... do you mean that your staffs will just go straight home after work?
he also mentioned that they start work at 12pm.
from 12pm to 9pm.
is it really considered to be LONG WORKING HOURS compared to the nails shops that i know of in JP from 1030am to 10pm?
4. wendy mentioned that their staffs are not friendly enough.
the manger shoot back " you guys were using the lap top right?"
- we did not start using the laptop once we were seated down.
and ur staffs are not trying to communicate with us at all.
they only talked among themselves.
i personally do not mind if your staff DO NOT TALK to us.
but... it's UNFAIR for you to say that we used the laptop, that's why your staff could not communicate with us.
5. i also mentioned, "you have everything (they have massage, nails, facial, waxing, threading and hair services) in the house, how sure are u that the standards for ALL SERVICES will be high?
cos from the nails service, it's already considered to be low standards.
and yes the package is cheap, and i can have all the services, but whAT if your nail + hair + massage + threading + foot reflexology + facial + waxing = 100% of service?
- He got nth to say. He jus say "oh i understand your concern."
nothing more. he didnt even try to make his stand.
6. finally taking off the separator stuck in between our toes by OURSELVES.
we proceeded to the cashier to make payment.
wendy gave a $10 to a guy.
and he said "GOT $2 anot? COS MY CASHIER DONT HAVE CHANGE"
i gave him the $2. and he said "oh, den must return $4 to your friend ar"
- WHAT THE ... U THINK I DO NOT KNOW THE MATHS?
AND IT'S VERY RUDE HOW U WANTED THE $2 !!!
finally OUT OF THE PLACE.
personally i spent $50 for classic mani and pedi. and i dont mind paying the $50. cos the service and standards are UP.if you canNOT show me that your service / standards are GOOD. no matter how much, i WONT PATRONISE AGAIN.and i totally agreed with what wendy said. "people will just go for the sake of $5 / $6. but they wont be your regulars."YA.
so this is my overall experience @ WAX IN THE CITY @ ORCHARD CENTRAL.
really an unforgettable one. ESP MY CONVERSATION WITH THE MANAGER. Lol.
i was already very pissed during the conversation.
till i raised my voice, and scared off the girl sitting behind me.
haha. wat a bitch i am.
but i am loved. =)
